Start from the customer relationship your team already recognises

A Nigerian supplier may know a customer by a trading name while its finance records use the registered entity. A person arriving at a new portal can find that entity in CAC's public company search, but the search result does not establish that the person may view its invoices or service documents.

We can build a workspace around the existing customer reference and an approved membership process. A nominated customer administrator or the supplier's authorised team confirms the relationship through the agreed procedure. The website should not grant access automatically because a visitor knows a registered name, number or email domain.

Let the authorised contact finish a specific account task

For an illustrative customer, the purchasing contact needs the current approved specification while a finance contact investigates an invoice. Establish which records and actions each membership permits. Keep the workspace's displayed trading name understandable alongside the actual business relationship.

An invoice, a payment attempt and a final settlement record answer different questions. Identify the source of each so the account area does not imply that displaying an invoice proves it was paid.

Review a corrected finance contact and the wrong organisation

Use synthetic accounts for two business customers. Replace the nominated finance contact through the approved process, then check the new contact can find the intended record and the former contact loses the agreed access. Try opening a saved document link while acting for the other customer: the server must enforce the boundary, not merely hide the link.

Account recovery, customer information and retention need approved owners. The handover records how membership changes are authorised and investigated without exposing another organisation's records.
